Under the term localisation (Latin locus = the place) one understands, in general, the adaptation of products, processes and contents and their presentation and documentation to regional demands. This includes, naturally, also the consideration of needs and customs, as well as societies, ethnic, religious and legal boundary conditions in the target regions foreseen for the marketing.
With respect to the development and design of software and web contents, this means a number of details that need to be taken into consideration.
