English to Chinese translation
Chinese translation services. In English, the Chinese language usually refers to the Chinese high language, Putonghuà, whose pronunciation is based on a standardised form of the Peking dialect, Beijinghuà.
Chinese is one of the oldest languages in the world and is spoken by 1.2 billion people, i.e. by about one fifth of mankind. It is, thus, the most spoken language in the world. This is true, even if you consider that Chinese is divided into many and very different dialects. Since 1949 a uniform "High Chinese" has become widespread consistently, which is the so-called Putonghua or also known as Mandarin. This officially spoken language is originally a dialect from North China, whose pronunciation is based on the Peking dialect.
In order to eliminate dialect-related word differences, a generally valid phonetic transcription was developed. The letters can be implemented easily in computer languages, that is, they can be digitalised. Owing to the growing economic importance of China, it is becoming increasingly important to understand this language. Chinese has already been the most important language for communication in the East Asian region since thousands of years. Moreover, it is one of the official languages of the UNO at present, and will advance to become one of the most important international foreign languages in the near future.
