Which languages can be used to communicate with you?
We have 3 official business languages in our organisation: German, English and Spanish.
Do you also offer translation of official documents?
Yes. It goes without saying that we also provide translation for official documents such as testimonials, marriage certificates, wills etc., which require that the translator is a sworn translator.
Do you offer a discount for repetitions of text passages?
Yes. Please mark a reference to such sections while submitting your order, so that we can take this aspect into consideration while working out a binding cost estimate.
Do you need to add VAT (Value Added Tax) to the prices listed?
All prices listed are net prices. Since the registered office of our company is outside Germany, we do not charge any Sales Tax in accordance with clause 3a of the Sales Tax Act, paragraph 3 in conjunction with paragraph 4 no. 3.
Do you also offer services for the transcription of audio tapes?
Yes. Please send us as accurate a description as possible of the content of your audio files as well as an audio clip, and request for a cost estimate. The price is governed by the source and target languages, level of difficulty and the duration of the audio clip.
Is it possible to provide the associated text in hard copy format (via post)?
Yes. However, since our international communication network is based on paperless electronic data transfer, we carry out the required scanning in this case at our end in order to be able to furnish the text to our employees. When you opt for this method, we charge EUR 39.00 / hour for providing this service.
To what extent is it necessary to provide additional materials (Glossaries etc.)?
In order to achieve results having the best possible quality, we require only all possible additional information, comparative texts or other resources, which can contribute to an explanatory overall picture, especially for the translation of specific technical texts. We recommend that you offer any material that is available, which we can request if required, after consulting the technical translator earmarked for the assignment.
The original text has mistakes or has been formulated poorly. Will the text in the target language have the same characteristics?
If you desire that the text in the target language should be written with a specific style, which would apparently not be justified for the original text, please avail of the upstream editorial services. After the original text has been revised, we can release and forward the text for translation. If we dispense with this step, the text in the target language will have shortcomings similar to those in the original text.
